Twas the Week Before Camp…

… and all through the land,
the staff was excited;
activities were planned.

The campers were packing
their clothes and their gear
because the Sunday of camp week
soon would be here!IMG_2864

Greetings from the Episcopal Church Camp of Illinois web page admins! On behalf of the joint ECC planning board, we are here to share highlights of the week. We will have one designated staff member in each session who will post daily on this blog to keep parents, friends, and camp alumni updated on how the week is going. This is the first time we have tried anything like this so please be patient with us. Check in daily during the week and then periodically during the rest of the year to see what the ECC board has in the works.

This year will be full of changes, and the staff is VERY excited to share them with you! The first (and probably biggest) change is that we are inviting parents and friends to remain at camp after campers are registered. We will accept campers from 1:00 – 3:00 pm and at 3:30 we will have an all-camp Holy Eucharist and counselor commissioning at the Ark. We hope this change will set the tone for the week and give families a small taste of the experience their children will have at camp. When the service is over families will head home while the campers head to supper and evening activities. Please plan to stay for this important service.

Be sure to check back often during the week for a sneak peek into our camp community.

HINT: There will be lots of Christ-centered fun!
