Middler Thursday

Today was a beautiful day. We began the day with a light morning rain, but the rest of the day has been amazing. We enjoyed Fishing, Mass with the Juniors, swimming in the lake and pool, and sports. For dinner, Bishop Morales and a crew fed us pulled pork sandwiches, beans, Mac and Cheese and cookies. Tonight we played Minute To Win It games and had counselor comedy skits.

Busy Days

Tuesday was French toast day in the dining hall so we got to see Eric do his annual rendition of “Toast!”

Later in the day the Seniors tried archery and had success.

Campers were able to try a plain bow and a compound bow and learned about bow safety as well.

Deondre even got a perfect bullseye!

We had a scavenger hunt and delicious Prairie Farms ice cream and then hiked to Inspiration Point for singing and Compline. It was pretty dark outside during these activities so there aren’t any good pictures. But having our campfire activities out at Inspiration Point was really special. It’s very dark and quiet out there overlooking the lake and we spent some time being CALM and observing God’s creation before we PRAISED ON.

Today we had the Juniors join is for Holy Eucharist.

The Seniors were really great with the younger campers.

All three sessions went to a new activity that East Bay calls “community night.” We had hamburgers for dinner in the gym and then could swim or play games at the athletic field. Then all of us went to East Bay’s Gregory Chapel for singing and Evening Prayer. It was amazing!

That’s Dcn. Jason taking a big group photo.

The Seniors ended the day with our Dutch Auction.

Kayla was stylin!

The staff is tired but we really feel like the week is going well. It’s hard to believe Wednesday is almost over. Thanks for your continued prayers!

Middler Wednesday review

Today the Middler Session joined together for our Healing service. This is always a powerful service in which the youth are given the opportunity to be prayed for and anointed for healing. This is a very emotional and powerful service. It was amazing. We also enjoyed a cookout with all sessions combined that included night swimming, football and soccer. Even the Clergy threw a few touchdowns (and a few interceptions and hips). The evening ended with an all camp Evening Prayer service. Another beautiful day that yes, included rain.

Middler Session 2014 Tuesday Update

Written June 1, 2014 by Father Deacon Jason Bowden. It has been an exciting, fun, Spirit filled and WET first couple of days. The Middler Session enjoyed The opening Mass, and swimming to kick off Camp Week 2014. Monday was filled with rain, Mass, rain, class time and family groups, rain, swimming at the lake and pool, rain (last reference), archery, 9 square game, broom hockey and a science presentation. Today, after drying out, the schedule included Mass with the Senior Session, class time, the Dutch Auction, and camp fire at “Inspiration Point”.
All of the campers seem to be having the time of their lives and are safe and sound. This camp has been spirit filled. I know that it may seem cliché, but it has truly been a camp where the kids have been very involved in the teachings and class time and are enjoying Father John’s lessons. We also celebrated the anniversary of Father John’s birth today!
Thank you for our continued prayers and support of the this ministry.

Sorry for the Delay!

During the storm Sunday night, the tower that supplies internet to the whole lake area was hit by lightning. Crews are working to restore service but for now we are trying to post via email which is much slower.

Please know that everyone is having a great week so far! All groups spent time at the lake and the pool yesterday. We had Holy Eucharist in our own sessions but today we start combining groups so we can mingle with siblings and friends in other sessions.

The weather forecast looks gorgeous today and we have many more fun and exciting activities planned. We are cheering on Team USA in their World Cup game even though we won’t be able to watch it. Hopefully we will have internet service soon so we can post lots more pictures.

We appreciate all the prayers that we feel coming our way. Please keep them coming! Last night the worst of the storms went around us which we are truly thankful for. GOD IS GOOD!!!!!
